Paragraph 1: The Strange Forest
||It looks like your target was fighting against this group of Nightmares.|
||It should still be nearby.|
The forest was like a mother to me.
Its overlapping branches and bountiful flowers sway in the gentle breeze, embracing me affectionately.
“Where am I? I must return soon…”
Beyond this forest, there’s no longer any other place that brings me peace of mind.
I have a place to return to.
Yet it lacks the warmth of a place where I belong.
A chill runs down my spine as I recall the acts that I committed before regaining consciousness in this forest.
My legs press onward against my will.
The terror that has taken root within me after many years forces me to do so.
“I need to go back. I need to go back. I need to go back. I need to go back.”
The words that spill from my mouth lack consciousness.

Paragraph 2: The Black Beast
The thicket rustles suspiciously.
From within the ticket, a black monster fades into colour.
It was clearly not a beast.
I had no choice but to admit as much, as it quite literally “faded into colour.”
Jolting awake, my mind registers the danger and I realize the situation I am in.
“This place is different from my world.”
I had more than enough information to make that realization.
It was of no concern.
The only thing that matters now is driving away the threat before me.
I clenched my fists…

Paragraph 3: A Chance Meeting with Aspiration
I look back and find a person standing behind me.
I explained my situation and asked, “Could you please bring me to a nearby town?”
It was in the moment I made such that request.
Eyes filled with fear and hatred pierced through me.
It was as if he was staring at a repulsive monster ― I sensed hostility that would be directed only at a menace to be exterminated.
“I’ve got to hurry and show him that I mean no harm…”
I didn’t hesitate earlier, either.
As I come to terms with what’s happening, the first human that I finally came across attempts to murder me ― without any hesitation.

Paragraph 4: The Monster Reflected in the Water’s Surface
I’m out of breath by the time I reach the lakefront.
I touch the water’s surface, intending to wash the cold sweat from my back.
“Is this… me?”
I can hear my voice trembling.
My teeth are clattering.
A strange feeling of dread overcomes me.
I’m used to fear.
It wasn’t unusual for me to feel it whilst exposed to situations that put my life at risk.
I’m used to pain.
It was often used to make me submit and force me to act against my will.
But I’m not used to this.
My appearance suddenly changed one day.
Such a bizarre phenomenon.

Paragraph 5: The Reminiscing Maiden
…My consciousness is fading.
The merry voices of vulgar men echo throughout this dark room.
This is where I live.
I called this place home long before I reached the age of discretion.
I don’t remember what my parents look like.
The unnaturally sweet fragrance of incense numbed my nose, and tasteless food laced with aphrodisiacs numbed my tongue.
If I disobey their commands, they use violence ― in order to improve my standing, I continue to curry favour with them.
I have been transformed into a living doll within this dark, enclosed world.

Paragraph 6: Aspirations of the Maiden
The broken dolls are being punished ― their screams rattle my eardrums.
Unable to maintain their sanity, their maddened laughter echoes day and night.
The vast majority of the people in this environment have their hearts broken ― the only reason I haven’t suffered the same fate is because I have something to rely on.
No matter how defiled my body becomes, my heart will remain pure.
With her happiness determined to arrive in due course, the unfortunate girl contemplated over the tale of her rescue.
Her thoughts run wild.
To the aspirations she yearned for.
To her unattainable dreams…
She was my aspiration and hope.

Paragraph 7: The Resolve to Become a Princess
My consciousness returns as I pinch my cheek.
I can feel pain.
I’m still sane.
It was just another one of my nightmares.
Warm sunlight and gentle winds caress my face.
I look upon the world with my newly acquired sentience ― a world filled with the tales I longed for stretched out before me…
I always thought that I would want to bombard God with ridicule if He ever existed, but not today.
If I’m doomed to one day awaken from this dream, then…
I’ll make my unattainable dreams come true.
In order to become the princess that I always dreamed of, I began to gather subjects.

Paragraph 8: Thoughts of the Princess
“What’s wrong? You’re crying.”
I become aware of a swarm of snakes squirming at my feet.
Though it was not a prince that I encountered, I was not discouraged.
These snakes are fitting for someone like me, possessed by envy.
Besides, I would dismiss any prince foolish enough to court someone as profane as me.
This is my first time meeting something more lowly than I am.
At last, I’m able to look at others with disdain.
I’ve finally remembered.
The one who purchased me from the brothel was not a prince, but merely a merchant with twisted inclinations.
He looked upon me with such scorn after having his way with me.
He loomed over me and snapped my neck.

Paragraph 9: Wails of the Ashen One
||Ｗｈｙ ｗａｓｎ’ｔ ｉｔ ｍｅ？|
||Ｗｈｙ ａｍ Ｉ ｓｏ ｕｎｆｏｒｔｕｎａｔｅ？|
||Ｉｔ’ｓ ｕｎｆａｉｒ． Ｉｔ’ｓ ｕｎｆａｉｒ．|
||Ｙｏｕ ｗｅｒｅ ｏｎｌｙ ｓａｖｅｄ ｂｅｃａｕｓｅ ｏｆ ｙｏｕｒ|
||Ｉ ｈａｔｅ ｙｏｕ．|
“How dare you leave me behind.”
Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate.
Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate.
“How dare you take my beauty away from me.”
Hate. Hate. Love. Hate.
Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate.
Hate. Hate. Hate.
“I’ll be saved someday so long as I remain beautiful, right?”
Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate.
Hate. Hate. Love…
My contradicting feelings are running amok within my chest.
I’ve reunited with the grim reaper and her affectionate beckoning.
The compassion in her gaze hung with the composure of a victor…

Paragraph 10: The End of Aspirations
Ｔｈｅｒｅ ｉｓ ｎｏ ｈｏｐｅ ｉｎ ｔｈｉｓ ｗｏｒｌｄ．
Ｏｎｌｙ ｅｎｄｌｅｓｓ ｄａｒｋｎｅｓｓ．
Ｉ ｗａｎｔｅｄ ｔｏ ｅｘｐｅｒｉｅｎｃｅ ｈａｐｐｉｎｅｓｓ．
My entrails have been pulled out.
In an attempt to numb the pain, my brain begins to secrete anaesthetics.
My limbs have been torn to pieces.
Mustering the last dregs of my strength, I raise my hand in pursuit of the light.
“Hey… just do it. Kill me…”
I lived my live being trampled upon by others.
If I’m condemned to be used by others even in my dreams, then…
I begged for liberation from the suffering that binds my body.
“I’ll spare you if you agree to become my servant..”
That was what I thought I heard, but the words won’t reach me.
I can’t hear anything.
Upon my faintly trembling lips flutters a response with no destination.
For it melted away into eternal nothingness…
