Enemies

Aside from using the right element against enemies, different enemies also have different strengths and weaknesses. Several bosses can have multiple HP bars, which all need to be depleted before they are killed, and are usually denoted by different colours. When one HP bar is depleted, the boss undergoes a mode change, which may trigger a special attack.

As a quick reminder (consult the Equipment Guide for more in-depth information about weapons),

  • Physical weapons: Swords, Hammers
    • Use for Birds, Ghosts
  • Magical weapons: Guns, Polearms, Foci
    • Use for Orcs, Plants
  • Support weapons: Tomes debuff enemies, Instruments buff allies (And Staves heal allies)

Raid Bosses[edit | edit source]

Ogre

Ogre
Phys. Atk:: 5 Characteristics
Phys. Def: 4 Ogre gets buffed if two or more people in the party are dead, so use your healing skills and try to avoid dying. He also uses clears buffs on your party, so debuffs (Tomes) are preferable to buffs (Instruments).
Mag. Atk: 1
Mag. Def: 1 Strategy
Speed: 2 Its physical defense is very high and its magical defense very low, so using magical attacks (Foci, Spears, or Ranged) is beneficial.

Ogre is the toughest raid boss out of the three currently available, and you will probably have to stack your grid towards Fire Magical attacks to be able to beat him. Unfortunately, the Blackstone Armor (increases weapon skill efficacy against Ogre) only comes in Polearm variety, and not Ranged. Some people have nonetheless experienced success using more Ranged weapons than Polearms, though, due to their higher single-target attack.

Fenrir

Phys. Def: 3 Fenrir has different characteristics for each mode.

  • Phase 1: Single-target attacks, short intervals.
  • Phase 2: A single AOE, then even shorter attack interval.
  • Phase 3: Attack interval is increased but more two-target attacks used. Physical defense becomes very high, attacks from physical skills get reduced to 1 damage. Magical attacks (Foci, Spears, or Ranged) must be used to defeat this phase.

Midgardsormr

Phys. Def: 2 Midgardsormr's attacks change depending on the mode it is in.
Mag. Atk: 4
Mag. Def: 2 Strategy
Speed: 1 Mode 1: Long intervals between AOE attacks.

Mode 2: Attack intervals become shorter, and uses a skill that buffs its own ATK. When a player's buff exceeds +4, it will clear all allies' buffs. Mode 3: HP and ATK increases. When HP is below a certain level, it uses skills to recover its HP while attacking.

Fafnir

Phys. Def: 3 Fafnir unleashes a hard-hitting single-target attack once into the final mode if any player's debuff level is -4 or more.
Mag. Atk: 3
Mag. Def: 3 Strategy
Speed: 3 Keep your party members buffed and handle debuffs with Instruments and buffing weapon skills. In the stages before the boss, it is recommended to clear the plants because leaving them alive allows them to debuff the party. If not too confident, stall (generally at the first stage with just the ghost alive) to buff up before continuing. Fafnir also preferentially targets players with lower DEF.

Phys. Def: 4 Orc types have high physical attack and defense, as well as low magical defense and a slow attack speed.

Mag. Def: 1 Strategy
Speed: 2 Use magical attacks. Their magic defense is very low so it is easiest to beat orcs by using magical attacks.

Hound

Phys. Def: 1 Beasts have high attack and speed. If you leave this type of creature on the battlefield, you will have to be wary of your party wiping to them.

Speed: 5 They are not a threat if you proritise defeating them, since they have low HP and defense.

Plant

Phys. Def: 4 Plants can decrease your party's attack and defense, as well as buff your enemies.

Phys. Def: 5 Golems have a very long interval between attacks but do note that a single attack from them can deal a lot of damage.

Speed: 1 Use attacks of the element the golem is weak to. The element the golem is strong to will deal 1 damage, and the same element will deal low damage.

Phys. Def: 3 Dragon types deal AOE magical attacks.

Drizella, Serpent of Envy

Drizella, Serpent of Envy
Phys. Atk:: 1 Characteristics
Phys. Def: 1 Drizella, Serpent of Envy uses a skill that increases her defense. After a mode change, if her defense is level five or above, she will use an AOE attack that deals high damage to the party.

Speed: 3 Use physical attacks.

Absorb Spider

Phys. Atk:: 2 Characteristics
Phys. Def: 3 Absorb spiders get stronger as they are dealt damage. It buffs its own magical attack while lowering your party's magical attack.
Mag. Atk: 2
Mag. Def: 3 Strategy
Speed: 3 After mode change, when it only has a bit of HP left, it will activate "I Consume Your Life", healing itself for a large amount. Concentrate your efforts with your allies to burst it down.

Solitary Black Rabbit

Phys. Atk:: 4 Characteristics
Phys. Def: 3 Solitary Black Rabbit hits hard and moves slowly. She periodically uses a skill that increases her Physical Attack, so she gets stronger over time. After mode change, she uses "An Ideal World!", a hard-hitting AOE attack on 2 to 3 allies.
Mag. Atk: 1
Mag. Def: 3 Strategy
Speed: 2 She gets stronger over time, so try not to drag out the fight.
Type: Human AOE: 3

Puppet Dragon

Puppet Dragon
Phys. Atk:: 4 Characteristics
Phys. Def: 5 Puppet Dragon has high physical defense, so physical attacks are not so effective. After mode change, when its HP is low, it will attack more frequently, as well as use strong physical attack skills.
Mag. Atk: 2

Speed: 2 Its weakness is magical attacks, so try to use Foci, Spears, or Ranged.

Phoenix

Phys. Atk:: 3 Characteristics
Phys. Def: 2 Phoenix buffs its party's physical and magical ATK. Mode change makes its buffs stronger. Furthermore, when its HP is low, it will unleash a powerful AOE attack.
Mag. Atk: 3
Mag. Def: 5 Strategy
Speed: 3 Attack nightmares that appear with Phoenix first, so it will not have the chance to buff them.
Type: Bird AOE: 3

Investigator Esse

Phys. Atk:: 1 Characteristics
Phys. Def: 2 Investigator Esse uses magical attacks. After its mode change, it uses a powerful skill if a party member's debuff level is -4 or lower.
